It’s time that we stop playing into the bullshit narrative which tells us the strongest people make it through alone.
First, strength is cumulative. Imagine trying to move a couch down the stairs (or worse, upstairs) by yourself? The larger the village, the more strength there is from which to draw.
Second, what’s up with all this “strength” talk anyway? Courage seems to be left behind a lot, yet it is arguably more impactful. Courage is learned through facing fear rather than denying fear. I don’t know about you, but I certainly feel more authentic when I’m choosing courage.
These are some resources that have helped me through the years. Some have expanded my village, some have guided me through the darkness, some have encouraged awareness, and others have supported my wellness.
It is courageous to seek support even when life is flowing smoothly.
